USDT (TRC20) Transfer Fees on TRON, Explained

Figures are approximate and change with TRON network conditions.

Why a USDT transfer is not free

USDT on TRON is a TRC-20 token, so sending it runs a smart contract — and every smart-contract call consumes Energy, on top of the Bandwidth every transaction needs. If your wallet has no free energy, TRON burns TRX from your balance automatically to pay for it. That burn is the "fee" people mean when they ask why a USDT transfer suddenly cost several TRX.

How much you actually pay

If the recipient already holds USDT: about 64,285 energy, roughly 6.4–6.5 TRX if burned at network price.

If the recipient has never held USDT before: about 130,000+ energy — close to double, roughly 13 TRX if burned.

That gap is the single most common reason a "6 TRX" transfer suddenly costs "13 TRX": you are paying for the recipient account's first USDT credit, not just the transfer itself.

Cut the fee by renting energy instead of burning

Every address on this leaderboard rents out delegated energy for a small TRX payment — typically a fraction of what burning would cost, because providers buy energy in bulk by staking TRX and pass on the saving. Some charge per 65,000-energy unit (rate scales with the amount you send them); others sell a fixed per-order package or a multi-transfer pass covering several sends.

Sort the leaderboard by "Best price" (premium) or "Top rated" to compare live, real prices paid in the last 24 hours — not advertised rates, actual settled transactions pulled straight from the chain.

How to actually do it

Pick an address with a good score and success rate, send it the TRX amount shown for your case, and within seconds it delegates energy back to your wallet — then you send your USDT using that energy instead of burning TRX. Always check the "Recent rentals" table on the address page first and start with a small amount.
